Phyto has to be one of my personal favourite hair care brands, and one of the highest concentrations of plant extracts available in the market today. Just to say in my opinion that there is no comparison or competition out there for this leading French Haircare brand from Paris, they are experts when it comes to looking after hair and scalp ‘-) And I just adore the various ranges available…
I was so very lucky to have received a huge PhytoPlage goody bag last month that I had to book a mini vakay, and to try my fab new products. So I grabbed my girlfriend from Oslo, and was joined in Portugal by my cousin. We all spent an incredible long weekend in Algarve, sunning, bronzing, testing products and some well deserved umm rest (tough life).
PhytoPlage L’Original Protective Sun Oil – Collectors Edition
Now we all know and understand SPF for the skin, but for hair – REALLY!!!
Well, why not? We spend hundreds if not thousands on hair treatments, from weekly straight blow-dries to colour changes etc… why shouldn’t we be protecting the hair from the damaging elements of sun, salt and chlorine?
L’Original Protective Sun Oil celebrates its 40th anniversary this year (hence the Collectors Edition) linking it back to its vintage and natural heritage.
This extremely light and sprayable oil protects, hydrates and nourishes the hair while preventing colour oxidation (prefect for those who colour treat their hair), perfect for the beach to protect even the most damaged and fragile tresses.
Application is easy, here is my cousin demonstrating just how quick and effortless it is… My cousin’s hair is shoulder length, mostly virgin (chemically untreated) with some honey tone soft highlights running through.
The hair becomes more manageable and easier to control. We all know how fuzz ball our hair looks after a swim in the sea. My cousin simply sprayed enough to coat the hair (5-7 sprays), using her fingers to detangle and run the product evenly through her mid lengths and ends, back in a pony tail and off to read her book…
Easy, peasy ‘-)
Later in the evening when we had dinner, she couldn’t stop raving how soft, hydrated and nourished her hair felt. I think her words were “it feels like I’ve just used a treatment mask, but didn’t… ” Well now that’s a result…
Key Ingredients:
Olive wax – provides a power punch of nutrients and leaves the hair shiny.
Castor oil – preserves hydration of the hair and restores radiance.
Essential oils of Calendula, Willow and Rosemary – All wonderful hydrating ingredients to leave the hair manageable and hydrated.
Very easy to find now, yeah for summer. Most online websites, retailers and of course salons stock this product. This hair protecting oil retails only at £16, a bargain compared to how much you spend a year on hair etc
PhytoPlage Sublime After-Sun Oil
This light and softly fragranced hair and body oil is made of ‘a blend of extraordinary and rare oils with high nutrient value for deeply rehydrating and beautifying sun-damaged hair and skin.’
The oil is non-greasy, non occlusive (doesn’t sit on the hair and skin) and a very unisex smell. It helps by reducing the drying effects caused by the sun, sea, salt and chlorine, making this the perfect after care for anyone’s summer holiday. Whether it’s by the pool or by the seaside.
The 98% natural oils deeply hydrates, conditions and restores the hair and skin post sun and sea exposure. Think of this as you leave on wonder product that not only repairs sun-damaged, but moisturisers and softens the skin and this will prolong your tan. Believe me – tried & tested and it works ‘-)
It was unanimous that all three of us enjoyed, actually ‘loved’ the new PhytoPlage Sublime After-Sun Oil for the hair and body.
This anti-salt, anti-chlorine and silicone free oil is just too fabulous, from the aroma, to the light dry oil texture, even the sexy glass bottle gets my approval. All tick, tick, tick…
It is so easy to use – after my day on the beach, I would shower and scrub down, dry off and apply liberally over the body.
Confession time – I do think the nozzle is a bit tricky to use especially when your fingers are covered in oil. Being a typical boy about it, I unscrewed the nozzle and drizzle a little in the cup in my palms before massaging everywhere. With the remaining oil in my hands, I ran my fingers through my hair to give it a light coating.
It absorbed quickly, there wasn’t any residue left on my skin or hair and I just loved how my skin and hair felt afterwards. The next day, where I was a bit red (on my body) from the sun before, my skin was this golden gorgeous colour, and that just incentivised me to “attack” the sun and lie on the beach with my book. Again and again…
Key Ingredients:
Perilla oil – a very rich source of omega 3 and alpha-linoleic acid, all amazing for skin and hair, and you all know my love for Omega oils. This extract helps with the repairing properties of the product.
Buriti oil – is your tan enhancing (magic to my ears) The oil contains high concentrations of oleic acid, tocopherols and carotenoids, especially beta carotene. And if you a sun addict like myself, make sure you eat fruits rich in carotene as this will help boost your melanin, allowing for an even and longer lasting tan.
Annatto oil – is a rich source of tocotrienols (antioxidants that are similar to that of vitamin E) and this extract is all about hydration.
This product is available nationwide and retails for a reasonable £26.50, so go and check out your nearest Phyto stockist…
If you love summer as much as I do, then your hair and skin will love you even more after trying these truly spectacular products.
Have a gorgeous summer break everyone ‘-)
